MORE FRIENDS

Welcome to Iron Friends. My name is James Swan and in obedience to God, I started ironfriends.org. God put this name in my mind back in 1995 after I read Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his Friend.” (AKJV)  The name, Iron Friends, has never left my mind. I believe that God has used the past 15 years to prepare me and other men for what He wants to do with Iron Friends.

Over the years, I have had so many conversations with men and I kept hearing this one particular statement from these men. As I would share a challenge that I may be having with my children, each of these men would say, "I thought I was the only one with this problem." When I shared with them about a time in which I miscommunicated with my wife in a way that caused some tension, each of these men would say, "I thought I was the only one with this problem."

What does it mean to be Iron Friends?

Iron Friends know that God requires them to do justly, and love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. (See Micah 6:8)
